The Merge = Gamechanger for web3
Web3 is still in its infancy but drastic moves are already underway to make the space as sustainable as possible. Like all new technologies, every year brings new efficiencies that help to reduce energy output and carbon footprint.
In September 2022, the Ethereum blockchain merged with a Proof of Stake protocol, cutting the network’s energy usage by 99.5%. The Ethereum Merge is a landmark event in the history of crypto, that has totally shifted the narrative around sustainability in the space.
It also sends a powerful signal that the blockchain industry has the power to adapt in a way that prioritizes our planetary well-being and at a far more rapid rate than other major industries like fashion. An individual transaction on the Ethereum blockchain is now broadly equivalent to a single Facebook post.

Our Co-Founders and advisory team have a track record of working in the sustainability space for a number of decades.
As an ambassador to the United Nations, Inna Modja has also advocated for major climate initiatives like the Great Green Wall which she helped bring to the attention of global decision-makers like President Macron, Jeff Bezos, and the Prince of Wales securing multi-billion dollar grants in the process.
